Well, we're still not enough of a force to deal with some of the nastier quests yet, so let's do a couple of relatively easy ones. And recruit a new party member in the process.



I may as well show you one of the game's better-known bugs while we're at it:



Use a potion, then swap any gem into that potion's slot. Leave the menu and wait for the circle beneath your character to stop flashing (indicating that they've "used" that item). You will effectively have "used" them gem, bringing its stack value to 0. However, while most items with a stack value of 0 simply vanish from your inventory, gems were not programmed for such behavior, so it stays.

Repeat the process a second time and you'll get an integer underflow, giving you a stack of 65,535 of that gem, which you can sell for a mountain of cash.

I won't be using this during the game, of course, as it's rather cheaty and eliminates most of the game's challenge when you can just buy all the good stuff straight away. Quite handy for speedrunning, though.
