He came and left in an eyeblink, or the opposite of one, depending upon how you viewed it.Because he appeared in the dark, lit the room with gunfire, and as soon as the muzzle flash cleared he was gone again, leaving nothing but a derringer slug in the skull of his unfortunate victim.

They called him... Murder Mouse.

Chapter Olfbeer

Olfbeer the Piker was a man of the pike.Not just because he happened to own one and happened to enjoy impaling things upon it, but because he drew a paycheck from such acts.Well, not so much a paycheck as a lot of impaled stuff, some of which occasionally appeared on "Missing" signs and would offer a reward if returned to the owner.So he would take the pike with the item in question upon it, and return the item, pike and all, to its owner for a reward.To make a long story short, the town of Griddlecake was now well-off in the polearms department thanks to Olfbeer the Piker.

The Natl Horsepucky Leeg was in town.That generally meant a lot of things being hit with golf clubs and teeth being sent in every direction, sometimes causing permanent eye damage to passersby.But it was a tradition, and soon to replace baseball as America's pastime.
