Being an fan of Secret of Mana, I'll give it some defense juice. There are multiple weapons for the reason of switching up the course of action that your characters taking. It's a hell of a lot better than just using one weapon through out the whole game. Being able to switch control between characters makes the variety of weapons that much more fun. How can you argue with the polearm, or the chakram? Those are definetely classic weapons you don't see in RPGs much now a days. I found the dungeons and color palettes appealing to the eye and the soundtrack to be a catchy masterpiece of SNES RPGs.
I do concur on the party members getting stuck everywhere. That's fucking annoying.
