A great Treasure game unfortunately overlooked because of its learning curve. The game consists largely of fighting enormous bosses, blasting away with four weapons of your choice. However, you'll also need to master the fine art of reflecting shots (which turns them into health powerups), hover jumping, ceiling clinging, and swapping between mobile and stationary firing modes to keep ahead of bosses. Most important of all, though, is your dash maneuver, which lets you zip across the screen instantly, evading all enemies and bullets in between (and doing massive damage to any enemies along the way if you're at full health). Hell, take a look at this demo I made a while back if you want to see the first few stages in action:
